Rice water has been used by the Asian culture for centuries as an anti-aging skin formula that protects from the harmful rays of the sun. In earlier times, Indonesian field workers would apply the cloudy rice water to their skin, while working all day in the hot sun, and yet their skin would remain smooth and supple. Similarly in Korea too, women would use the starchy rice to wash their faces. It was believed that washing the face with milky water from soaked white rice lightens as well as softens the complexion.
