After working with some of Canada’s best photographers, Evren D’souza has returned to home turf to shoot things he loves
It is not easy to understand what Evren is all about, but when one comes across this easygoing photographer’s candid pictures, one may actually start solving the puzzle, piece by piece. He comments, “I’m shy and socially awkward.” And yet, ironically, his favourite subject is studying the interactions of people with their surroundings. On one of his projects, he says, “While shooting at a restaurant, I saw a gentleman peeking in through the window, intrigued by the flashes going off inside. Impulsively, I shot a few frames of his face, against the window. The photographs are my personal favourites, though he smiled, made a rude gesture and walked off. I have always been an inquisitive person, maybe even bordering on nosy.” Subscribe to Verve Magazine or buy the Verve issue on stands now!
