Louis Boucheron, son of founder Frédéric Boucheron, fell in love with Rajasthan on his first trip there in 1909. Since then, the House of Boucheron has taken inspiration from India for its creations. A true tribute to Jaipur, Boucheron invites us to escape with a new breath of woody floral air christened the Jaïpur Bracelet. This jewel case, made of pale pink-tinted glass, is a tribute to the Pink City’s palaces, sculpted like a hanging bracelet. With its amethyst cabochon, the institutional colour of the House, the bottle, curved like a woman’s form, celebrates the softness of nude skin.

According to Indian mythology, the monsoon is the best time of the year to undertake an energising body treatment that is a unique combination of purification, rejuvenation and pampering. Embark on a journey of rejuvenation with the relaxing Ayurvedic ‘Vata Shamak’ package at Sereno Spa, Park Hyatt Goa. The experience begins with a herbal sea salt scrub that gently exfoliates the skin. This is followed by an Indian clay body wrap which detoxifies the skin. The experience concludes with a warm herbal oil massage that revitalises the mind, body and soul.

tip
Twice a week, use this exfoliating scrub: Mix together multani mitti (Fuller’s earth), channa atta (gram flour) and sandalwood powder in equal quantities and store in an air tight container. To use, mix a teaspoon of this scrub with water to form a paste. This rids the skin of flakes and dirt.

Guerlain by Emilio Pucci embodies the union of two prestigious Houses in perfect synergy. Emilio Pucci, the Florentine fashion brand whose cult prints have been evoking Italian colour and a refined way of life since the 50s and Guerlain, whose creations have represented Parisian luxury since 1828. The guiding thread of this second collaboration is a motif inspired by an iconic print, Winter Capri, taken from the Italian ready-to-wear brand’s archives. Exclusively recoloured for this collection, its signature print, a blue flower interlaced with swirls and flames, adds a joyful Pucci touch to Guerlain products.

flashback
For a long time right from the epic ages, Indian women have used Kohl to make the eyes appear large. Kajal like all ancient Indian make-up was made at home. A small earthen lamp was filled with ghee (milk fat), and a cotton wick placed in the lamp was allowed to burn overnight. The black soot created by the flame was collected in a bronze or copper pan arranged at an angle above the flame. The soot obtained was then mixed with some ghee, and a drop of castor oil and the kajal paste was ready for use with a thin silver applicator.
