Anand Jon airdashed from Los Angeles to attend the Midsummer Night's Eve celebration by IG International at a European cocktail garden created right in the middle of urban New York. The post Oscar and Grammy Celebration fever was manifested in the dinner event organised for designer Anand Jon at Olica, off Park Avenue.

When else would they celebrate, but in the middle of the day? To mark the completion of 24 years of its colourful existence, Mumbai's afternoon-tabloid, MidDay, hosted a celebratory bash, inviting all the headline-makers to join in the merry making. Venue: Hotel Oberoi, Mumbai. Highlight: Juicy tidbits being passed around. Overheard: "This time, we make the news!"

The Do: Kama Ayurveda's indulgent Mother's Day pampering at Silhouette, the Oberoi's marvy beauty salon. Prem Mehra's (she's M.S. Oberoi's daughter) iconic salon has been the place de jour for over 35 years. Meanwhile Kama Ayurveda is sweeping the beauty sweepstakes. Inside Silhouette, the cream of society got itself pummelled, massaged, tweaked, tweezed, manicured and pedicured into shape.

Anand Mahindra, newly-anointed chief of the Confederation of Indian Industry, and wife Anuradha Mahindra, editor-publisher, Verve, hosted an informal gathering of the Capital's go-getters. Venue: Hotel Maurya Sheraton, New Delhi. Highlight: Guests energetically taking to the floor. Overheard: "Running a business is an art, after all."
