While the complex handset - that took seasoned craftsmen three years to learn to assemble - aroused the curiosity of the jet set present, compere Divya Palat took the guests through the history of Vertu, as models paraded the coveted collection, which has been inspired by the tradition of Grand Complication timepieces, each including 388 mechanical components. And complementing these New Age accessories, was the glitter of Popley's La Classique collection, Rhea. According to chief designer, Frank Nuovo, "the luxury phone is all about celebrating mobility and the freedom that comes with it. It is a tribute to travel." A Verve poster as a backdrop, Verve in the goody bag and Vertu as the new aspirational jewel. Such is the stuff that feel-good evenings are made of.
