Sparking a new fashion trend this summer, the Burberry Prorsum Spring Summer 2008 women’s catwalk show has redefined the look of contemporary jewellery. Designer Christopher Bailey has added a twist to the classic Burberry style with an underlying rock chic vibe. The centrepieces of this collection are the bracelets, bangles and cuffs that come in clean strong hexagonal, square or round shapes. The metallic and perspex jewellery pieces are inspired by the ‘luxury warrior’ theme and mostly follow the dark nickel, lacquered black and brass colour palette. The look is strong and detailing includes metal studs, multi chains and Celtic studs. Considering that stacked-up chunky bangles are a quick pick-me-up for any outfit, the Burberry hexagonal cuff is the ideal complementary accent for Lycra trench coat dresses and silken shifts.
