From B-school to Bollywood, Anjori Alagh shifts gears

The first time Anjori Alagh faced the camera was for an ad by Prahlad Kakkar. She was very young then. After completing her studies in business management from the US, she decided to follow her actor mother Maya Alagh’s footsteps. While in the States, she also signed up for an acting course at Stanford. “That’s when I realised my true passion for acting. I decided to switch careers and pursue what I loved rather than what was expected of me,” says the young star. Her debut in multi-starrer Life Mein Kabhie Kabhie was noticed despite the film’s lukewarm performance at the box office. “I thoroughly enjoyed portraying Ishita who was a total contrast to my personality and proving myself among established actors” says Anjori. The actor returns in mentor and good friend Vikram Bhatt’s 1920, a period love story with a supernatural twist. Anjori plays Gayatri, a young, sheltered girl, with great inner strength. “She holds the key to the mystery in the film.”
